We queried the database of Croatian authors who wrote in Latin by their floruit, grouping the numbers by thirds of centuries. The numbers of living authors are actually somewhat higher, because the generations overlap (the 30-year-olds live together with the 60-year-olds, who are past their floruit).

Note the slumps: 1500-1533, 1600-1633; note also the tremendous rise in numbers after 1733.
